As you know January is the traditional time to reflect on recent accomplishments, identify shortcomings, and establish some resolutions for the coming year. I know you like resolutions, because they challenge you to make a change -- and allow you to check back throughout the year and see how you're doing. So I put together a few resolutions and notes that I thought I would share with you.
- To continue to discover potentially dangerous holes in AOL "security".
As a member of the AOL community myself, I often question how safe my personal account is. And since I have perseverance, never ending curiosity and way to too much free time (I believe that at least the first two are good qualities BTW), I decided the best way to gauge the security was to put it to the test. I hope you don't disagree too much.
- To keep any "holes" I discover completely to myself.
In a nutshell I just want you to know that I won't spill the beans. You secure your data for very obvious reasons and unlike many "underground" AOL types, I mean no harm to AOL. (If I did you would have noticed a long time ago ;) Like being perfect, an unbreakable security system is an unreachable goal. So I'm not out to make that aspect of your job any tougher.
- To ensure the Everett wins the soccer award in summer camp again in 1996. (Assuming you come back to the PC Day Camp this year)
After all he deserves it because he showed me his ability to work hard and take on a challenge. (And Annie wasn't that bad herself.)
I hope these resolutions will guide me throughout the coming year. I hope to make significant progress against these resolutions -- and I'll report on how I'm doing via the standard methods. I hope you'll follow my progress.
